About One 2 One Accountants
One 2 One Accountants is a Bristol based accountancy practice that was established in 2007 by chartered accountant and sole practitioner Martin Richards. One 2 One offers a personal service and gets to know their clients’ businesses inside and out.
With a range of services for small businesses including accountancy, payroll, and tax advice, One 2 One’s client base has grown substantially since the business was founded; with most new work coming by way of recommendation and word of mouth from satisfied clients.
Due to the hands-on nature of their work, One 2 One Accountants generally visit clients’ offices on a monthly basis to check their books and accounts, provide monthly information relating to accounts and process VAT returns each quarter.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, One 2 One Accountants has been busy supporting their existing client base processing furlough reclaims, helping with redundancies and grants and demystifying Government advice.
Problems they were facing
The UK lockdown as a result of COVID-19 had a significant impact on the way that One 2 One Accountants were able to operate.
Whilst a recent investment in Office 365 and SharePoint had enabled them to easily make the switch to remote working by accessing documents in the cloud, essential client visits were now strictly off limits.
With clients needing support now more than ever, One 2 One Accountants tried using an off the shelf remote desktop software tool, but the frequent timeouts hindered practicality.

Taking into consideration the time out issue with their existing solution, the team at Absolutely PC recommended an alternative remote access tool which was cloud-based, scalable, and easy to use for both staff and their clients.
This simple and low cost yet highly effective solution offered several features beneficial to One 2 One Accountants:
Easy setup process, all clients had to do was click a link to enable the connection.
Once connected, staff were able to access client PCs at agreed times to carry out work as if they were using their PC in person.
Rather than committing to a costly licence, One 2 One were able to pass on a small fixed fee to clients for use of the software.
The tool was cloud based, offering reliable uptime and robust security features.
Unlike the previous tool, this solution did not time out after a short period of time.
Staff were also able to remote access into office PCs from home as required.
Conclusion
With the new software installed and configured, One 2 One Accountants were able to continue providing essential accountancy and payroll services throughout the lockdown.
Customers valued the solution provided and were extremely grateful for the proactive response from One 2 One. With furlough reclaims, they were simply able to login into their clients’ machines, collect the necessary data and file the claim on their behalf.
